Tara Sharma has been seen in quite a few interesting films such as Masti, Page 3 and Khosla Ka Ghosla to name a few. However, post Khosla Ka Ghosla, Tara hasn't had a single release barring her cameo act in Heyy Babyy. Now the chirpy actress is all set to be seen in a variety of roles in the coming months.
Tara has in fact been signed by none other than Dharma Productions for their Saif- Kareena-Vivek starrer which Rensil D'silva will be directing. An excited Tara says, "Yes, I am doing Rensil's film. I got a call from the casting and production team at Dharma Productions. They asked me to go through the script. I read the script and really liked my role. The film is a political thriller and I am paired opposite Vivek Oberoi. It's not a very big role but it's definitely interesting and pivotal to the story. Moreover, I didn't want to miss out on a chance working with such a reputed banner. I am looking forward to start shooting for the film end of next month."
December will also see the release of her long awaited film Maharathi, where she stars alongside stalwarts such as Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri etc. "Yes I am really excited that Maharathi is finally releasing. I play this nerdy, gawky architecture student who is quite a mysterious character. It's not a conventional glamorous role; in fact I go completely de-glam for this role. Till the end, the audience doesn't know if she is good or bad. I really had a wonderful time working with actors like Pareshji, Naseer saab and Om Puri. The energy, enthusiasm and passion which they have for their craft is something which people even half their age don't have. Pareshji has directed the play on which the film is based and most of my scenes in the film are with him so he was always there providing valuable inputs which really helped me", says the actress.
After Maharathi, Tara has Ashok Amritraj's The Other End of The Line with Jesse Metcalfe and Shriya Saran. It's released in the States and should be out here early next year. Then she has a film called Suno Na in which she plays a pregnant single woman. The film has a socially relevant message and is directed by a lady director - Ami Thanawala. She has also just finished a film called Mocktail which is a comedy starring Rajat Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Koel Purie and Tara. Besides two of her films- The Whisperers and Amavas have been ready for release a while ago.
