Released on Dec 12, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ has grossed approximately Rs. 60Crores worldwide releasing 1200 prints. The most sensational fact is that the film has surpassed Dhoom-2 that was regarded as one of highest collections of all times.

In the Middle East, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has set a new record altogether as the highest opening film of all-time. The previous highest was Dhoom:2, which grossed approximately $1.86 million across its entire run. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has grossed approximately $1 million on its opening weekend alone.

The buzz is that Shahrukh Khan and Amir Khan are facing the same problem. 

Both are desperately waiting for their upcoming films ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Ghajini’. ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ is directed by Aditya Chopra while ‘Ghajini’ is directed by A.R. MurugadossBoth the actors are having one of their career’s most awaited films ready for release. SRK’s film is releasing on 12th December while Ghajini is releasing on 25th December. Now at the same time both the actors are facing claims of falsification against them.

Writer Ajay Monga has accused Farah Khan and SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment of stealing his script idea for Om Shanti Om from his script. Now the case has taken an interesting turn with the Film Writers’ Association (FWA) going back on its earlier decision and claiming that it has found the first half of Om Shanti Om very similar to Monga’s script.

India’s Maths genius Shakuntala Devi has accused Aamir Khan of stealing her idea for his directorial debut film, Taare Zameen Par. Shakuntala has accused Aamir of borrowing ideas from her book. She now plans to produce her own film based on the story from which some of the things shown in Taare Zameen Par have been taken.

Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri and Farah Khan summoned to court

Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan and Farah Khan have all been served a notice by a local court to be present themselves to the court on February 22nd , 2009, in connection with a petition filed against them by veteran actor, Manoj Kumar.

 

A defamation suit had been filed by veteran actor Manoj Kumar against these makers of the film ‘Om Shanti Om.’. He had objected to a character in the movie who bore a resemblance to him and was shown being beaten up by guards when he went to attend a movie premiere.

Kumar had said the portrayal had caused immense damage to his status and lowered his image among fans. The actor demanded a rupee as compensation money from the filmmakers, and said the objectionable scenes should be erased from CDs and DVDs.

Last month, the Andheri metropolitan magistrate issued summons to the three, asking them to be present in the court on Tuesday.But, they didn’t show up following which the magistrate issued the notices to them. Source

Shah Rukh Khan(SRK) to be awarded ‘Datuk’ on December 6

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to be conferred the Malaysian title of ‘Datuk’, akin to the British knighthood, on December 6 and he is expected to receive the honour in traditional Malaysian attire.

The traditional Malaysian black costume with a waistband, a songkok and a black cap is the official attire to receive the award from the Malaccan royal chief, Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob.

The actor will receive his Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka award at a ceremony at 10 a.m. at Dewan Seri Negri, Ayer Keroh, in the presence of 1,000 invited guests, The Star newspaper said Tuesday.

The actor, who was to have received the award Saturday, had to reschedule his trip due to his tight working schedule. He is scheduled to be in Malaysia for three days.

State Secretary Omar Kaseh confirmed that Shah Rukh would be in Malacca for a day.

The actor is immensely popular among Malaysians and had shot the film “One 2 Ka 4″ and a song sequence from his blockbuster “Don” in Malacca.

Shah Rukh’s shoot in Malaysia had benefitted the country immensely, giving it global publicity without any money being spent.
