Shah Rukh wraps up shoot for Vivek Vaswani's Dulha Mil Gaya
Vivek Vaswani is elated yet composed. His Dulha Mil Gaya has finally reached the finishing mark (well almost) with the biggest milestone being achieved i.e. portions featuring Shah Rukh Khan being wrapped up. No wonder, there is a renewed vigor in Vivek's voice as he announces the near-completion of his film."We have just finished principal shooting for the film after filming the last of the talkie portions and the climax. Only a song remains to be picturised and once Shah Rukh is back from Los Angeles in February, we would all come together again and take Dulha Mil Gaya to a close", says Vivek Vaswani whose association with Shah Rukh Khan dates back to Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman days. "Post 26/11, circumstances were so difficult for a film to be shot. Yet, it was because of Shah Rukh, Sushmita (Sen), Fardeen (Khan) and my entire crew who all came together to make it possible. They told me, 'Vivek, we will make it happen, you don't worry'. Everyone was completely supportive of Dulha Mil Gaya and didn't want any further delay in the film's shoot", Vivek gets emotional here. The song which remains to be picturised is a 'qawalli' that would be featuring Shah Rukh Khan along with Sushmita and Fardeen as well. "Meanwhile I will continue to utilize these couple of months that I have in hand. I have already sat on the film's edit for an entire last week and it is looking wonderful at it's 2.5 hours duration", informs Vivek while revealing his future plans, "Month of January would see some intense post production work happening. Everyone associated with Dulha Mil Gaya is supercharged and want to see it in theaters soon." So when would one see Dulha Mil Gaya hitting the screens? "I am looking at an April/May release though we also have to keep in mind the IPL. If the cricket mania strikes again during this time period, we may bring Dulha Mil Gaya a little later. Why to fiddle around with your product when you have painstakingly worked on practically each and every frame of your film? I am ready to wait for a couple of weeks extra rather than fool around with my film for an early release date", signs off Vivek.
Jumping Jack and Dream Girl come together to judge dance based show
Reality T.V. has caught on in a big way and every actor worth his salt is seen on T.V. these days either as a host or as a participant or as special guests. While most of the current generation actors have made an appearance at least once on reality shows, even the yesteryear actors are not far behind. The latest to join the reality T.V. bandwagon are none other than 'Jumping Jack' Jeetendra and 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini. The duo would be seen as judges on a new dance based show called 'Dancing Queen' which goes on air tonight on COLORS. The show would feature starlets like Dippsshikha, Sanober Kabir, Meghna Naidu, Sambhavna Seth and Mink showing off their moves and competing for the coveted title. However, the highlight continues to be the coming together of Jeetendra and Hema Malini who will be seen together on the small screen after sharing screen space in films like Dulhan, Gehri Chaal, Khushboo etcConsidering it's a dance based show, there couldn't have been two better people than Jeetuji and Hemaji as judges. While the former is known for his trademark style of dancing, the latter is a trained Bharat Natyam dancer, having performed at countless stage shows. Surely the duo knows a thing or two about dancing! The inaugural show would also have the gorgeous Deepika Padukone as a special celebrity judge. Deepika would be there to promote her forthcoming flick Chandni Chowk To China. To catch all the fun and action don't miss tuning into 'Dancing Queen' only on COLORS at 10 PM IST tonight.
Anushka Sharma : From Studies to Bollywood
As Anushka has got grand entry to Bollywood, many are keenly interested in peeping to past life of her. Well, Anushka graduated in Economics from Mount Carmel College.
Her teachers are surprised that Anushka opted for a career in films, she was was very inclined towards studies in college. Some of her classmates even say that Anushka wanted to persue higher studies in Economics. “She had told us that she would be taking up civil service examinations,” says her friend Margaret.
Well known fashion guru Prasad Bidapa, who has groomed many models and actors including Deepika, says that he had an inkling that Anushka would achieve something big in the glamour world.
“Anushka was just 14 when she came to my office with her parents,” he says. “Her parents wanted Anushka to be a model. When parents are so keen on seeing their child in the fashion world, it is natural for any youngster to show interest in knowing more. I made sure that she was part of many of my shows. She used to walk on the ramp perfectly. She was a good learner and worked hard to come on top. It did not surprise me when she got such a good opportunity in Bollywood.”
JOHN ABRAHAM TURNS SAVIOUR, DROPS PRICE
My birdie informs, "John had been committed for a UTV film. But somehow the project was getting delayed due to the slump in the market. There was a buzz in the industry that the project may get scrapped given its high making costs. But just recently, the UTV top bosses held a meeting with the cast and crew of this film. All of them were told in clear terms that they would have to reduce their remuneration for the film or else they would have to let go of the film. John Abraham immediately volunteered to reduce his acting fees by 60 per cent. Following him, the rest too agreed to cut down on their fees. Now, the film will go on floors in early 2009."
Most of the corporate production houses today are harping a common tune that unless and until the big stars and star directors don’t reduce their highly inflated prices, it will be difficult for them to make films in the current scenario.
John has been the first star to do cut his price, perhaps also understanding well that had he not done so, then either he would have been replaced by another star or the film would have been scrapped altogether.
Now, I hope the other big names who’ve been delivering only flops in the last few months yet demanding big bucks start emulating him our Johnny boy. Source
Katrina Kaif Upset With Salman Atrraction With NRI Model
Reportedly, Katrina Kaif is peeved at her man these days. Salman Khan has been digs at his NRI girlfriend at every public event they have been together. Katrina has been seen giggling awkwardly as Salman jokes about her poor Hindi. Either that or he snubs her all of a sudden for no fault of her own. Katrina decided o get back at the actor by giving the special screening of their movie Yuvvraaj a miss.aaj a miss.
Salman had held the screening for family and friends, and a host of known and unknown personalities turned up. But the love of his love (if may we call her that) decided to stay away. Riya Sen, Adnan Sami, Tinu Anand, Sophie Chaudhary, Savid Dhawan were just a few of Salman’s dear guests at the event. Even Aishwarya’s look alike Sneha Ullal who would once accused the Khans of “mismanaging” her made it point to show up.
She was heard saying, “He (Salman) is my darling”. Director Subhash Ghai gave a meek response when asked about the absence of his three lead actors Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan. Source
Akshay Kumar Renews His Contract With Coca Cola Company
A source reveals, “Action has always been Akki’s forte and the Thumbs Up commercials use that point to maximum advantage. Presently, the creative team is discussing the look and feel of the next commercial to be shot in the coming few weeks. In the last series of commercials for the company, he had done parker. For the latest one, Akki plans to take the action in the commercials to another level.”
The source further adds, “The renewal marks Akshay’s fourth year with the brand. In an era when most cola companies keep changing the brand ambassador frequently, Akki has been bringing in laurels for this particular brand. Before Akki, Salman was the face of the product, but with him, the marketing team of the brand never got the desired effect.”
Akki is back in town after a whole year of globetrotting. He is currently shooting for two movies Nadiadwala’s Kambakht Ishq and Rohan Sippy’s Chandni Chowk To China. Later this week, he plans to start Venus’ De Dhana Dhan to be directed by Priyadarshan with co-stars Katrina Kaif, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal. Source
Shahrukh Keen On Working With Aamir
Shahrukh Khan may not see eye to eye with Salman but he is really keen on working with Aamir Khan.
Forgetting about the old dog-blog episode Shahrukh revealed to a newspaper, “It’s not up to me to decide. If it has to happen some day, it will. But I would like to work with Aamir one day. I always tell him that I’ve worked with every actor but with him. Anyway there’s time. Abhi toh hum dono jawan hain aur dono ki body bhi achhi hai.”
Preity googles herself
Like many other actors and actress Preity Zinta also loves to google herself on Google search engine.
When asked whether she googles herself she said, “Yes, I do. Once, I found something that said, ‘Preity’s hush hush wedding video’. And it was a video of some other people getting married! I left a note there saying ‘Losers!’ Once in a while I find good stuff, bad stuff, constructive criticism… I take the bitchiness with a pinch of salt, I take the compliments with a smile, and when it becomes too much for me, I just say, save energy, reduce your carbon footprint, and switch off my computer!” Source
Soha Ali Khan Scared of Driving Cars
Soha Ali Khan who proved that she is a brave girl by deciding to live on her own despite having her big brother in town has revealed that what scares her the most is driving cars.
In some films, where Soha was required to drive a car, she tactfully avoided it but she couldnt do that for Dil Kabaddi.
Soha tells us, “I am a very bad driver. In fact I get really scared if I have to drive. I never shot driving scenes in my previous films, but then for this particular shot in Dil Kabaddi I had to drive at the marine drive 7 o clock in the morning. We had made my personal driver to sit at the back seat to instruct me while I was supposed to drive. He helped me but then I was very stressed out for the shoot.”
Debutante director, Anil Senior Sharma adds, “Soha had told me she hates driving and is scared of doing that but we couldn’t avoid the scene. We had to coax her and convince her that she could do it well. I made her take eight to ten rounds just to increase her confidence before actually shooting for the scene. She did it easily but one can see the tension on her face. I must say she managed it well in the end.” Source
Priyanka shines in Dubai
Priyanka Chopra outshone other Hollywood beauties and Bollywood beauties at the red carpet launch of an art Hotel in Dubai.
And a businessman named Richard Branson even branded the Fashion actress as the only woman worthy being called a Goddess.
He said to Priyanka, “You’re the only woman worthy of being called a Goddess. You’re the most beautiful woman in the world.”
When Priyanka was quizzed about the incident she said, “Yes, the incident with Branson really happened. He was just being sweet and chivalrous. I didn’t know how to react. I gathered my wits and said a calm ‘Thank you’.
Priyanka also praised Robert De Niro, saying, “He is De Niro, man! He just kept smiling. His wife spoke more than him. He said he was very happy to meet what he called young talent from Bollywood.” Source
Akshay Kumar & Naomi Campbell - da Hot Combo
Akshay Kumar is not a new name for Hollywood. The actor has already paired with Hollywood stars like Denise Richards, Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh etc. Going a step further, Akki is supposedly all set to sing along with supermodel, actress and singer Naomi Campbell in a duet for the animated movie ‘Jumbo’.
Naomi has acted in the movie ‘Miami Rhapsody’ earlier and is set to appear in another Hollywood movie with an Indian touch- ‘Karma, Confessions and Holi’ which also features Randeep Hooda and Sushmita Sen.
Khiladi Kingg Kumar is not behind with many projects in toe. His ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ is coming up in January. Also in progress are ‘Kambakht Ishq’, ‘Blue’, ‘Eight by Ten’ and Deepa Mehta’s ‘Komagata Maru’, which tells the story of the historic voyage and challenge to Canadian immigration laws early in the 20th century.
'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar is desperately seeking Katrina Kaif
Spicezee Bureau Mumbai, Nov 25: Call it superstition or lady luck, but Akshay Kumar is desperately seeking Katrina in all his films. The uber hit onscreenjodi that have been touted ‘King and Queen’ at the Box Office this year are in no mood to part ways, for the man in this filmy relationship is exploring all ways to rope in the long legged lass in all his ventures. Then even if that means the ‘Kinng’ will have to twist a few things or two, the actor doesn’t seem to mind it at all.
Ever since his ‘Singh Is Kinng’ days, filmmakers have been forming ques to cast the dishy actor. While Akki has been giving his nod to more or less all projects, he is making sure he lays down his terms loud and clear. And leading the actors wish list is hottie naughty Katrina Kaif.
According to a news daily, Akki is pushing filmmakers to rope in Katrina. The actor who will next be seen opposite Deepika Padukone in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ apparently is not to keen to share screen space with other B-town chicks.
Looks like Akshay has fallen head over heels for Kat, and guess what? Our angry ‘old’ man Salman does not seem to mind this at all. The actor has reportedly gotten used to the Akki- Kat chemistry (onscreen ofcourse) and is all supportive of Katrina romancing the ‘Kinng’ not King for that is a title bagged by SRK.
For now the couple will once again be back together in 'De Dhana Dhan' – a Priyadarshan film. And going by the industry buzz, Katrina will be indeed the lucky lady to play the lead role in Akki’s first home production.
With Akshay ruling the BO charts, we would say Katrina has walked away with the biggest piece of the pie. Source
